Photochromic lenses contain special molecules which change shape and give the appearance of the lens darkening when subjected to UV light. When the UV source is removed the lenses return to their clearer un-reacted state. The advantage of these lenses is that for outdoor use a seperate pair of sunglasses would be unnecessary; however, whilst technology is constantly improving, they do not change instantly. As they also do not work as well behind windscreens, they are not always the best choice of sunglass for driving.
ColorMatic® XOur new ColorMatic® X takes our photochromic technology to the next level. ColorMatic® X is our fastest lens yet, regaining crystal clarity when you go inside faster than ever before. When you go into the sun, they darken quickly to protect you against glare and eye strain, block 100% UVA/UVB light, and help filter blue-violet light both indoors and outside.

ColorMatic® DarkOur new ColorMatic® Dark is the perfect fit for you if you are very light-sensitive, spend a lot of time in bright sunlight, or want a self-tinting lens that also activates in the car. ColorMatic® Dark tints deeply in bright sunlight and fades back to clear when you move out of the sun. Of course, it also protects you from glare, blocks 100% UVA/UVB light, and helps filter blue-violet light.

ColorMatic® 3 SunColorMatic® 3 Sun combines photochromic performance with a base tint for ultimate comfort when spending long hours outside in the sun. In strong sunlight, they protect your eyes with a dark tint. If you switch to the shade, the lenses automatically brighten. This guarantees clear, high-contrast vision around the clock, also in changing lighting conditions.

Drivewear
In the past, clear eyewear was enough. In bright light conditions, polarized sunwear was enough. This is no longer true. Today our lives are strongly influenced by the automobile, which has changed the way we experience the outdoors. We need a third category of lenses in our modern, automobile-centered world. Drivewear lenses are capable of sensing and reacting to varying light conditions both outside and behind the windshield of the car. From bright sunlight accompanied by intense, blinding glare, to overcast inclement conditions, Drivewear lenses provide the wearer with the appropriate visual solution. Drivewear lenses provide glare protection through polarization and enhance and protect vision through photochromics which respond to both visible and UV light. By combining the strengths of two of the most important technologies in eyewear today we have developed the lens of tomorrow.

Drivewear lenses feature a high efficiency polarizer never before found in such a high contrast, light colour. This colour was chosen and designed to maximize useful light reaching the eye in low light/ overcast conditions. This polarized film is active in every lighting condition to block blinding glare and improve visual acuity.
|
Exposed to visible light, the lens changes to a copper colour, which many drivers find is the most comfortable colour for driving. This is not surprising, as this Drivewear colour was designed to both remove excess light and provide good traffic signal recognition.
|
Outdoors, Drivewear is activated by UV and visible light and deepens to a dark reddish-brown colour. This colour was designed for maximum filtration of excess light and to provide maximum protection from bright light and blinding glare. The brown colour of the lens provides excellent colour recognition with a special emphasis on highlighting greens.
