Daily disposables have developed a lot since 1982 when the MIA-Lens company produced the first ever. We now have them available in silicone hydrogel materials with astigmatism and there are even multifocal daily lenses. Due to the relatively high manufacturing costs, however, there is currently a restriction on prescription coverage for these lenses meaning they are not made for every prescription. They do, however, make them to cover the majority. As a general rule prescriptions from -10.00 to +8.00 are available, but this changes all the time so consult your optometrist to find out if you are eligible. |
