Ortho-K or Overnight Vision Correction Therapy is a new and exciting form of contact lens wear that uses individually designed contact lenses to gently correct your vision while you sleep leaving you with the freedom to enjoy life.

In short, by wearing Ortho-K lenses at night instead of throughout the day the lenses correct your sight so that for the following 24-48 hours there would be no need for any vision correction, neither glasses nor contact lenses.

Watch the video clip opposite, taken from the This Morning TV programme, to see how Philip Schofield tests out the therapy and share his excitement with the result.

Ortho-K is perfect for those who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle or are just fed up of glasses and conventional forms of vision correction but are unsure as to the safety of laser eye treatments. It carries no greater risk than standard lens wear and is perfectly safe provided the practitioner advice is adhered to and the procedure is COMPLETELY reversible.

The lenses are made of a rigid gas permeable material and are of a bespoke design.

Along with the gently eyelid pressure whilst you sleep these lenses create a small amount suction on the cornea enough to affect a shape change culminating in the correction of short-sightedness up to -4.50 DS and astigmatism of up to -1.50 DC.

Ortho-K has been an established form of sight correction for some 40 years and I am glad to say that we can now offer this exciting new treatment plan at our practice so please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
